Meet Our Founders

Dr. Sandy Davis
Co-Founder and Supervising Psychologist
Level II Certified Clinical Trauma Professional
Master Irlen Screener

As a Clinical Psychologist, I specialize in supporting adults in every stage of life navigating the complexities of trauma, anxiety, and LGBTQIA+ issues. My approach is open and eclectic, weaving together techniques from cognitive-behavioral therapy, rational-emotive behavioral therapy, attachment theory, psychodynamic principles, and of course, from a person-centered approach. This allows me to create a tailored and compassionate therapeutic experience.

I consider myself a “tough love” clinician, which means in addition to establishing a safe and nurturing therapeutic environment, I also believe in striving for progress in your therapeutic goals and always working towards relief and improvement. The “traditional” model of psychotherapy has historically included analysis beginning with a focus on early childhood and working through various traumas and triggers up to the present. Instead, I believe it is most beneficial to create stability in current day-to-day functioning through various tools and therapeutic techniques before delving into previous traumas and transformative life experiences and relationships.

I graduated with my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, Dallas, in August 2012, having obtained a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology also from Argosy University, Dallas, in 2010 and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Austin College in 2006. As a clinical supervisor to interns in various stages of education and skill level, I pride myself in training ethical, competent, and compassionate clinicians with strong clinical identities, to continue this meaningful work in their own careers and patient relationships.

I am licensed in the state of Texas and also for seeing patients via Telehealth in the following states: AL, AZ, AR, CO, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, RI,  SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, VA, WA, WV, WI, WY.

If it sounds like I may be a good fit for your needs, please reach out below to discuss further.

Dr. Lindsay Ballinger
Co-Founder and Supervising Psychologist
Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor

I have always had a passion for helping those in need.  This need can come in many forms, but I have built my life on the need to seek change.  Life has its ups and downs, and sometimes talking with someone not living in those changes can provide a new outlook and comfort.  I believe that through the therapeutic relationship, individuals can receive the support they need to help them through the up and down moments of life.

Currently, I am a supervising psychologist with a PhD in clinical psychology.  I have two master’s degrees: a Master of Science in Applied Psychology and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, and have used this license in many settings, including private practice, non-profit, hospital, and community mental health.  I currently supervise master's-level interns under this license.

I have experience teaching at Texas A&M-Commerce in the undergraduate psychology department.  I have also worked with children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of diagnoses.  I am Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy certified, as well as Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy certified.  Additionally, I have training in Nurturing Parenting and Skills Streaming.  Through all of my experience and training, my passion has been rooted in helping others find comfort in seeking change.

I focus on what each individual client needs and desires to change in the therapeutic setting.  I work from a primarily Cognitive-Behavioral perspective, focusing on the link between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as it pertains to current symptoms and behavioral presentation.  Therapy is a personal and individual journey, but I believe the journey does not have to occur alone.  I believe social support is important to success, and I am willing to include family, friends, and close supportive relationships in the therapeutic process.

Life is a journey and sometimes it’s a hard one. We all need support navigating certain roads and that’s where I come in. On our journey together, we will take a look at where you are now, explore what you want to create, and decide what needs to expand to get you there. Early on in our journey we will develop a treatment plan. When we meet, I will employ certain interventions to help you get through those mental blocks so that you can stop feeling stuck.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I am EMDR trained (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). I have a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology and I have Master’s in Professional Counseling. I have a Masters in Biblical and Theological Studies from Dallas Theological Seminary. I use a non-judgmental, trauma-informed integrative approach often combining cognitive-behavioral (CBT), dialectical-behavioral (DBT) and solution-focused therapies to uncover hinderances to growth and healing. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, and families from all cultures and backgrounds.

I will remind you of how resilient you are. I will challenge you and acknowledge your strengths as we work through whatever is holding you back. You owe it to yourself. Send me an email or give me a call. Future YOU will thank you.

I am currently accepting new clients.

Angela Zepeda

Welcome! I am a dedicated Clinical Psychology graduate intern under the supervision of Lindsay Ballinger, PhD, LPC-S and am committed to the understanding that effective therapy hinges on personalized treatment tailored to the unique journey of each individual. I prioritize understanding your distinct experiences, challenges, and aspirations to collaboratively develop a therapeutic approach that best supports your growth and healing.

My professional background began working with children diagnosed within the Autism Spectrum and providing early intervention services. My background also includes valuable experience working with children and mothers who are survivors of domestic violence, providing empathetic support and empowering them to navigate through adversity both in individual and familial settings. Additionally, I have worked extensively with individuals from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds, fostering a deep respect for the richness of human diversity. Ensuring that all individuals receive the care that is needed without allowing barriers to hinder the initiation of their healing journey is crucial to honoring equality.

I prioritize the importance of ethics, standards, and maintaining competence in alignment with your specific needs and goals. Upholding ethical guidelines ensures a safe and confidential space where you can explore emotions, thoughts, and behaviors without judgment.
I invite you to take the courageous step towards beginning your therapeutic journey. Together, we can embark on a path of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth. Please reach out to start your transformative journey today.

Katie Hepfer, Practicum Intern

Supervised by Drs. Ballinger and Davis

As a counseling intern, I’m passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward self-love, body acceptance, and emotional well-being. I primarily use Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful beliefs that fuel self-criticism, anxiety, and shame.

Together, we’ll work to shift internal narratives, develop healthier ways of thinking, and cultivate compassion for yourself—especially when it feels hardest. I strive to create a warm, affirming space where you can explore your experiences without judgment and begin to embrace the full, authentic version of who you are.

Whether you're navigating body image concerns, low self-esteem, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy and evidence-based support.

If this is your first time looking for a therapist, I get that it can feel daunting. You may feel as if your life is slipping away, but where to begin? Experience has taught me that the relationship between a therapist and their client is the most important predictor to how the therapeutic process turns out. Whether anxiety, depression, grief or trauma have brought you to my corner of the world, I'm here to be your teammate by being present with you from day one through providing support and curiosity during our time together.

Knowing that it may be uncomfortable discussing these topics at first, I make it a priority to create a safe space for you to feel heard and understood. By pulling from a wide range of interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, we'll work together to find the best possible treatment approach for you.

I'm accepting new clients ranging from adolescents to adults. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have and I'd be glad to set up a free consultation. I look forward to hearing more about you and what you'd like to gain from this experience.
